Setting

The resort lies on its own pebble beach close to the town of Chania in western Crete. Chania airport is around 23 kilometres away. From here you can reach the Samaria Gorge, Chania's old town and, by boat, secluded coves along the coast.

Resort & rooms

Domes Zeen Chania is part of Marriott's Luxury Collection. The resort was designed by the Berlin studio Lambs and Lions: suites and bungalows are grouped around a central agora and furnished with dark timber, rattan and tree-trunk stools. Many units have a private or a shared pool. The pavilions and villas form the Haute Living Selection with a dedicated concierge. The resort has won an AHEAD Award for its design.

Dining

The cooking is Cretan and Mediterranean: grilled fish, meat from the open fire, ingredients from the island's producers. Breakfast is served as a buffet and à la carte. Zamāna Beach Bar sits on the beach, Ef Zeen Pool Bar by the pool. On request you can dine privately by the sea or in your own villa, with a butler and matching wines.

Wellness & families

In the Soma Spa every treatment is put together individually, with products by Augustinus Bader, ELEMIS and iS Clinical. There is also a gym with Technogym equipment, yoga and Pilates. Children have a Montessori-inspired kids club with yurts and teepees, their own vegetable garden and, right next to it, a 200 m² family pool.

Elounda, Crete

Domes of Elounda

Setting

The resort lies directly on the sandy beach of Driros in the bay of Elounda in north-eastern Crete. Opposite lies the island of Spinalonga with its Venetian fortress, and beyond it opens the Gulf of Mirabello. Heraklion airport is around 71 kilometres away.

Resort & rooms

Domes of Elounda is part of Marriott's Autograph Collection. Suites, residences and villas sit on the hillside above the sea, many with their own pool or jacuzzi. The Spinalonga Sea View Aqua Suite measures around 46 m², the two-bedroom family suite 100 to 120 m². Chora, a stone-built area with its own pool designed by the architect Maria Tsaftari, is reserved for adults aged 16 and over. Nowhere else in the resort is Spinalonga this close.

Dining

The resort has five restaurants. Thólos, under its dome, serves the breakfast buffet in the morning and Greek and Mediterranean cooking in the evening. Makris in Chora is run by Michelin-starred chef Petros Dimas, with a tasting menu and Cretan wines. On the beach, Vilebrequin La Plage serves fish and seafood, Antonino's cooks Italian, and CORE offers street food, ice cream and an open-air cinema in the evening.

Wellness & families

The Soma Spa has an indoor pool that is heated throughout the season. Outside there are several pools for families and for adults. Children have their own kids club with a garden. Water sports and boat trips to hidden coves start from the beach.

Finikia near Oia, Santorini

Neema Maison Santorini

Setting

The hotel lies in Finikia, the old village of Oia in the north of Santorini. No cars come here: stone paths lead past blue domes, vineyards, bakeries and small cafés. Oia is a two-kilometre walk along the caldera path, and Santorini airport around 15 kilometres away.

Hotel & suites

Neema Maison belongs to the Domes Finds, a small collection of distinctive hotels within the group, and has just 15 rooms. Guests must be at least 16 years old. The suites are built into the hillside, with high vaults and a private courtyard, some with a jacuzzi, kitchen or loft. They are styled like backstage dressing rooms at a fashion house, with make-up tables, mirrors and linen fabrics. Sizes range from around 30 m² to the Red-Carpet Cove Suite at about 70 m².

Dining

By the pool lies Antonino's, an Italian restaurant in the spirit of 1950s and 1960s summers: pizza cut at the table with scissors, dishes to share and a pool bar serving Assyrtiko and spritzes. Through the Helestia Concierge Club guests also have a reserved spot on the caldera, with a shuttle for sunset. The hotel has been selected by the MICHELIN Guide, and Falstaff awards it 91 points.

Wellness & more

Yoga takes place on the terrace, massages on request. The gym is equipped by Technogym. The hotel's own Neema boutique sells resortwear by Greek designers such as Mary Katrantzou and Ancient Greek Sandals.

ENTRY & HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

As of: 17 September 2026 – Greece is part of the EU and the Schengen Area, and German citizens do not need a visa. A passport, provisional passport, ID card, provisional ID card or children's passport is sufficient for entry; apart from the provisional ID card, the documents may have expired no more than a year ago. The same document is needed for the flight home. There are no compulsory vaccinations. Travellers with German statutory health insurance should bring their European Health Insurance Card, which covers urgent treatment; medical care is good on the mainland and more limited on the smaller islands. We still recommend travel health insurance that includes repatriation. Imports and exports follow EU rules: defence sprays are prohibited, and antiquities and archaeological finds may only be taken out of the country with permission from the Ministry of Culture. Payment is in euros. Pickpocketing is common in Athens and Piraeus, above all during the travel season and in busy places.

How much luggage am I allowed to bring?

PAYMENT & PROTECTION

How much is the deposit?

As a rule, the deposit is 20% of the trip price. For peak-season dates it may be higher; this will be stated in the respective offer. For non-refundable special-fare flight tickets, the deposit may also be higher, as the ticket must be paid in full immediately.

When is the balance due?

As a rule, 30 days before departure. We'll point out any deviations already at the time of booking.

How do I pay for my trip?

Payment is conveniently made by bank transfer.

Is my trip protected by a tour operator insolvency insurance (ATOL licence)?

Yes. As a German tour operator we are legally obliged to protect your trip with a tour operator insolvency insurance (ATOL licence). Fly Unique has a contract with the R+V Versicherung. You will receive your insurance certificate automatically with your booking confirmation.

Do you recommend a travel cancellation insurance?

We generally recommend travel cancellation insurance and are happy to advise you on suitable options.

Send us a copy of your pilot's license. We'll then support you with the license revalidation and inform you about all the documents required for it.

Do you assist with route planning and permits for pilot trips?

I'm pregnant. Can I still travel?

In principle, traveling is possible with an uncomplicated pregnancy up to week 34/35; the second trimester (weeks 14 to 28) is considered ideal. The exact rules vary by airline: many require a medical certificate of fitness to fly from week 28 onward, and most airlines decline to carry passengers from week 36 onward. Feel free to reach out. We'll check individually for your airline and route how your desired trip can be arranged.
